New Years Day murder suspect brought back to Evansville

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — A man accused of murdering a man on New Years Day in Evansville has been brought back and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail.

Christopher Boyd, Jr. was arrested in Georgia by U.S. Marshals after allegedly killing Jerry Hale following a fight.

Boyd was booked Sunday at 9:07 a.m., according to jail records.

Police were dispatched to the 400 block of East Riverside Drive just after 5 a.m. on January 1st for shots fired when officers saw Hale on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound to the back of the head. Hale passed away at the scene before officers arrived.
