$1 million to help build new Habitat neighborhood in Owensboro

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — One million dollars is going to help build a neighborhood development project in Owensboro.

The Daviess County Fiscal Court approved the Community Development Block Grant which will help Habitat for Humanity of Owensboro-Daviess County purchase about three acres of land.

The money will also help with the development of public infrastructure, such as water, streets and sidewalks.

Habitat for Humanity hopes to build 10 new homes for low to moderate-income households off Kentucky Highway 144 near the Consumer Mall.
