OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) — McIntyre Road Residents say they received a letter at the end of January; alongside that letter were 3 maps of the area that would be directly impacted by plans for a new methane gas compression facility.
“We didn’t know anything about this until we get a letter in the mail and then we have second parties involved,” says Rick Murphy, a 14-year-resident.

People say they are concerned about how it will affect their quality of life. Officials say the methane will be collected from the county landfill and turned into green gas.
“The natural gas will be no different than the natural gas that people use right now to heat their homes, or to turn on their stores and cook food,” says Daviess County Judge Executive Charlie Castlen.
Daviess County Fiscal Court says plans for the facility began in April 2020, and TC Energy will build a 5-mile long pipeline for the process.
Murphy and Donald Peters live within a half mile of the predicted sit and say there is a 3-day wait time for information.
