Sheriff: Convicted felon arrested for drug activity

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – A McHenry man is behind bars after the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office states surveillance confirmed drug activity.

The agency states on February 1, detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that left the residence and said it had expired tags and further confirmed there were illegal narcotics inside the residence.

Officials say a search warrant was executed at about 2:30 p.m. on Allen Street by the OCSO and Kentucky State Police where Joanus Holbrook was arrested. The search reportedly turned up suspected methamphetamine, a firearm and drug paraphernalia.

Holbrook was taken to the Ohio County Detention Center and booked on the following charges:

  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (enhanced)
  • Buy/Possess Drug Paraphernalia (enhancement)
