HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — An Evansville man was arrested after deputies said he was driving drunk and hit a home with his vehicle.
Deputies were sent to the area of Hogue Road and North Red Bank Road early Saturday morning.
Deputies said they found a vehicle next to a home with all of its airbags deployed, but no one inside the vehicle.
According to an arrest report, a witness told deputies they saw the driver walk away from the scene with blood all over his face.
Deputies said they used a drone to find the driver in the woods, identified as 21-year-old Trevor Steele.
According to deputies, Steele said he had been drinking and had several shots of whiskey and at least 6 Truly alcoholic beverages.
Officials said no one in the home was hurt when the vehicle hit it, but the building commissioner was called due to the amount of damage to the home.
Deputies said there was a large amount of damage to the home’s walls and foundation.
Steele was taken to a hospital to be evaluated and was then taken to jail.
