UPDATE: Police provide new details on driver shot in head

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- Evansville Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the early hours of Sunday.

Police say they responded to a shots fired call just before 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, on the Lloyd Expressway near Lemcke Avenue. Witnesses told police that three shots were fired at their vehicle including one shot that hit the driver in the head.

Evansville Police Department to participate in Crisis Intervention Team Training

The victim was then transported to a local hospital. Police say the victim was alert and conscious when he was located.

Police say that there were other passengers in the vehicle who were not injured, and no arrests have been made at this time. Evansville Police say a the caller was inside the car when the driver was shot.
