Owensboro suspect indicted as part of Operation Short Circuit sentenced

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A suspect that was among those indicted in a drug investigation in June has been sentenced to 19 years in prison.

Authorities say that Chance Morton, 34, of Owensboro was charged with possession of controlled substances, distribution of methamphetamine and conspiracy to possess methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Operation Short Circuit leads to mass indictments in Owensboro

Morton was one of seven Kentucky suspects in the Tri-State area that were apprehended as part of Operation Short Circuit, a multi-agency investigation that also netted suspects in Florida, Georgia and Maryland. In total, 10 suspects were federally indicted on drug charges.
