One person was killed and another was injured after two vehicles collided head-on Monday morning in Posey County, Indiana.
The name of the person who was killed hasn’t been publicly released. According to a news release from Sheriff Tom Latham, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Around 8:15 a.m., Louis Riecken was driving north on Indiana 69 near Smith School Road when another vehicle heading south moved nearby. The second vehicle, driven by the deceased individual, crossed into the northbound lane suddenly and struck Riecken’s car.
Riecken suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the release states. The other driver, however, had to be extricated from his vehicle. EMS officials treated him on scene, but he was ultimately pronounced dead.
His name will be released once his family has been notified.
