EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) – Evansville is known for making World War ll aircrafts like the P-47 Thunderbolts, but there’s only about 50 left in the world today. Rob Collings of the American Heritage Museum says, “Its the most American produced fighter plane in history, and thousands, and thousands of them were built right there in Evansville.”
