Sheriff: Woman hospitalized after being found lying along a highway in Warrick County

A female has been hospitalized after she was reportedly found lying near a culvert and suffering from serious injuries along a highway in Warrick County.

In a news release Tuesday morning, Sheriff Mike Wilder didn’t identify the female or detail the severity or nature of her condition.

He said a resident discovered the person along Indiana 62 just east of Boonville. Warrick County deputies, EMS and fire responded to the scene, and she was eventually taken to a local hospital.

The Courier & Press has reached out to Wilder to ask when exactly the female was found.

Earlier Tuesday, the sheriff’s office posted on Facebook that it had closed Indiana 62 between Roth Road and Urban Drive due to an “ongoing police investigation.”

“Warrick County Sheriff’s Detectives continues to actively investigate the incident,” the release states. “No other details can be released at this time.”

This is a developing story and will be updated.
