Police arrest man after he flips truck and trailer in Henderson

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Henderson Police arrested a man after he flipped a truck and a trailer that was reportedly stolen out of Evansville on Monday.

Officers were dispatched to the area of south Green Street at approximately 11:30 a.m. to be on the lookout for Sidney Perry, 42, who was reportedly driving a truck with a trailer stolen out of Evansville. Officers attempted to make contact with Perry, but authorities say he fled from officers in the vehicle and disregarded the stop light at Route 425 and Highway 60, almost causing an accident.

Police say Perry lost control of the vehicle and went off the highway, flipping the truck several times. Officers at the scene say Perry climbed out of the truck and fled on foot. He was later found hiding in the wood line with minor injuries.

Perry was booked into the Henderson County Detention Center on the following charges:

  • Parole violation (felony offense)
  • Fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle)
  • Wanton endangerment
  • Receiving stolen property (Greater than $500 but less than $1,000)
  • Disregarding traffic control device
  • Leaving the scene of an accident, failure to render aid
  • Criminal mischief
  • Fleeing or evading police (on foot) (two counts)
  • Resisting arrest
  • Failure to have license in possession
  • Theft of identity of another without consent
  • Improper display of registration plates
  • Failure to appear
