Evansville man accused of driving into man after argument

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A man was arrested on Tuesday after Evansville Police say he drove a vehicle into another man after an argument and then fled from the scene.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 2 a.m. to the 200 block of Main Street for a report of an assault. At the scene, a witness said Kylar Whited, 19, had used his car to strike a friend after they had verbally argued with Whited.

According to an affidavit, one man was struck by the car causing bleeding and scrapes on his left arm, as well as swelling. The man was also reportedly missing half of a tooth that was chipped when he was struck.

Police say Whited fled from the scene after also causing property damage to a planter and tables and chairs at the scene. Whited reportedly admitting to fleeing the scene after the property damage, but said he did not believe he hit anyone with his car.

Whited was charged with criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, leaving the scene of a crash causing serious bodily injury and two counts of leaving the scene of a crash causing property damage.
