In 2020, when the COVID pandemic shut down the majority of community events, Tim Ross, the Director of Public Events for the City of Owensboro, started brainstorming ideas for how to save the city’s annual fireworks show- the All-American 4th of July. The solution? Spread out the fireworks around town. The decision was insanely popular and fun and it stuck. That tradition will continue this Thursday when Owensboro again celebrates Independence Day with fireworks shows strategically positioned throughout town.
