Employee finds handgun while cleaning sewer in Evansville

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- An employee of a pumping company says that they found a handgun while working on a sewer Thursday afternoon.

Law enforcement reacts to nationwide school threats

Evansville Police say that it happened around 4:00 p.m. in the 1300 block of East Gum street near College Highway. The employee called police and told them that the gun was sucked from the sewer drain in the middle of the road.

Evansville Police did a background search on the gun and determined that it was not stolen. It was then placed into evidence at EPD Headquarters.
