Traffic switch begins for Lloyd Expressway on west side this weekend

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – The Lloyd4U construction reaches its next milestone this weekend.

Officials state beginning on or after Saturday, September 21, crews will close the westbound lanes and shift westbound traffic to the south side. There will be one lane of traffic in each direction stretching from Barker Avenue to Posey County Line Road.

Officials say the traffic switch is expected to start at 7 a.m. and delays are expected between 8 and 9 a.m. as crews shift traffic into the new configuration.

Officials explain the traffic switch will make room for crews to construct the westbound side of the facility between Barker Avenue and Posey County Line Road. Improvements include pavement replacement, bridge reconstruction and intersection improvements. Officials also say the new configuration will be in place until the middle of 2025 when traffic will shift to the newly constructed side and work will begin on the eastbound side of the facility.
