Henderson assisted living executive director works with residents after deciding to close facility

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Some residents at a Henderson assisted living facility say they feel misled after staff decide to close it.

The facility’s executive director says she and her staff will be working to relocate the people to other places to meet their needs.

She says everyone should be happy once the moves are complete.

Colonial Assisted Living sits on a quiet road on Stadium Drive in Henderson.

The owners of The Homeplace of Henderson on Green River Road just bought the property along with the second Colonial facility on Adams Lane.

By November, the Colonial building on Stadium will close, and we’re told a moving company will help the 23 residents here move out.

Some will go to the facilities on Green River and Adams.

Back on September 16, residents were notified to vacate in 60 days.

“We just decided that it would be nice to have them under one roof and be able to meet their needs and those that needed more help to get them in the proper place for care,” The Homeplace of Henderson Executive Director Jessica Beaven says.
