LINCOLN CITY, Ind. – How much can one conclude from a game played in these conditions?
It’s a fair question to an extent. This matchup, with championship-level stakes and a possible preview of even more importance, was delayed 21 hours due to remnants from Hurricane Helene and played on a soggy, wet-grass field. The odds of playing error-free football were less than zero.
Heritage Hills provided a strong answer as its defense keeps playing at a high level.

The No. 2 Patriots defeated No. 3 Gibson Southern 28-0 on Saturday. The third shutout in four games from this defense. The first zero on the scoreboard for the Titans in this series since Todd Wilkerson and Nick Hart joined their respective programs in 2012.
Heritage Hills was tough and played physically. This was a winning effort.
“They’ve been doing that all year,” said Wilkerson. “Making plays when we need to make plays and being physical. Those guys have continued to be ballhawks. It makes the offense a lot easier when you’re getting turnovers.”
