Evansville mother accused of driving under the influence with a minor in the car

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — An Evansville mother is facing DUI charges after police say she was operating while a vehicle while intoxicated. Police say a minor was in the car with her.

According to police records, officers were dispatched to the area of Old Business 41 and East Diamond Avenue where it was said a driver was stumbling around outside of her vehicle.

The reporter told police a child was also inside the car with her.

When police approached the vehicle, they say Kaylee Vance had glazed over red eyes. She says she had taken “multiple of her prescribed Oxycodone throughout the day.” A search of the vehicle was conducted where police say they found an empty prescription bottle for Oxycodone.

During their investigation, it is said Vance tested positive for cannabis during a SoToxa test and was transported to the Vanderburgh County Confinement Center.

Vance was charged with two counts Operating while Intoxicated.
