Blocktoberfest takes over downtown Owensboro

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) — The annual Blocktoberfest took over the streets of downtown Owensboro for a noon to midnight extravaganza.

People in Owensboro got to enjoy nice weather, local breweries and vendors all on 2nd Street for the 4th year of Blocktoberfest.

One couple is showcasing their business by offering a vintage way of getting your picture taken, using a Polaroid camera.

“We’ve been to lots of events with photo booths, but there’s something about having a physical copy by the end of the night,” says Mary Lewe with Frame and Flash Studios. “We thought it was a really fun idea and so we just wanted to try it out and see if people like it and so far people seem pretty into it.”

Owensboro natives go for the local vendors and stay for the local beers. Henderson Brewing Company made the trip wanting to be part of the community event.

“Favorite things to do is talk about the beer with someone that’s never had it before or a certain style before you can kind of talk about what makes it that style, the flavors everything like that,” says Joshh Sohne.
