LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Norton Healthcare unveiled on Saturday a new monument at the site of what will soon be the first new hospital west of Ninth Street in 150 years. The monument at the site of the new Norton West Louisville Hospital honors providers who offered medical care to people of color in West Louisville during a time of legalized segregation and in an area with no hospitals or medical practices for people of underserved communities.
