HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Evansville Police are investigating a scam after a victim received a phone call from someone claiming to be a relative in need of bail money.
According to police records, the victim received a call from someone claiming to be his daughter.
The caller said she was in jail and needed a specific amount of money for bail.
Police says the bail payment was supposed to be delivered through a third party but they say the scam was discovered before any payment was made.
It is said the victim continued to receive calls from both a male and female suspect asking him to pay for bail money.
This is an ongoing investigation.
