It’s a Halloween tradition almost on par with costume parties and gorging on “fun size” candy bars: Figuring out when to take the kids out trick-or-treating.
Some towns set official times. Some don’t.
Almost universally, they do recommend sturdy shoes, dressing for the weather, watching out for traffic and having fun.
And the weather part is important because this year, you may need an umbrella, with forecasters expecting a lot of rain on Thursday.
Here’s our list of the Tri-State’s local trick or treating events and hours.
Evansville trick or treat hours
The city of Evansville doesn’t have official hours for trick or treating.
Newburgh trick or treat hours
Trick or treating hours in Newburgh are Oct. 31 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Boonville trick or treat hours
The city’s annual Boo in Boonville event on the town square is Oct. 31 from 5-6:30 p.m. Outside of that event, there are no set hours for trick or treating in Boonville.
Henderson trick or treat hours
In Henderson, the annual Downtown Trick or Treating event, with local merchants and organizations handing out goodies, is from 3 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 31. The city itself does not have official trick or treating hours for residential areas.
