City officials and members of the Owensboro Fire Department ceremoniously broke ground on a new Fire Station 3 on Monday morning, continuing the city’s process of modernizing OFD stations and its training center.
When complete in January 2026, Station 3 will be larger than the current station on Cravens Avenue, with more vehicle bays, training and workout space and private sleeping areas for men and women firefighters.
