Shooting outside EFD station leaves one person injured

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — One person injured and 3 others are in custody following a shooting in Evansville, outside of a fire station on Maryland Street.

Dispatch tells us the initial call came in at 7:15 p.m. in reference to a shots fired call in the 2400 block of West Maryland Street in Evansville.

An officer on scene tells us one person was taken to the hospital after being shot and all parties involved are in custody as they continue their investigation.

Another officer tells us a dispute outside of a nearby fire house turned into a physical altercation, which led to the shooting.

Sergeant Trudy Day tells us no firefighters were involved with the altercation.

We’re told the victim along with people in his party relocated to the Taco Bell prior to officers arriving on scene.
