EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Among all the places to visit on Evansville’s west side, few and far between are like the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1114 off Wabash Avenue.
Every other Friday trivia night is in the back bar and open to the public, and it’s where Army National Guard Lieutenant Colonel Jeremy Lainhart is spending his last couple hours in southern Indiana.
Just last month, Lieutenant Colonel Lainhart left his Evansville home for deployment for deployment in a classified area in the Middle East.
He’s no stranger to seeing other parts of the globe. Lieutenant Colonel Lainhart has served our country at the Pentagon, twice in Iraq, in Italy and in Africa — putting logistics in place to keep America and their host countries safe.
“Going forward over the next two to five years, planning is kind of the realm where I’ll be working in,” Lieutenant Colonel Lainhart says.
He will be deployed for a year — nearly seven thousand miles away from Evansville.
“We don’t want to inform as we live in a world today that this microphone could translate it into another recording device that gets send to somebody that maybe doesn’t want to do good by it,” Lieutenant Colonel Lainhart says.
