Pedestrian dead after being hit by SUV, EPD confirms

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Evansville Police confirms one person is dead after being hit by an SUV on Washington and Burdette Avenue in Evansville.

Dispatch says the initial call came in at 3:50 p.m. in reference to an accident with injuries. Officers say this was a pedestrian vs. SUV accident.

Sergeant Hollins, with EPD, tells us life-saving measures were taken but, the pedestrian did succumb to her injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.

We are told a Good Samaritan was also on scene attempting CPR on scene prior to AMR’s arrival.

The driver was taken to the hospital for a blood draw however, Sgt. Hollins says they believe “no malice was involved” with accident.
