Motorcycle wreck leads to one arrest on DUI charges in Evansville

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — An Evansville motorcyclist is facing several charges after officers say he nearly hit a police cruiser on Sixth Avenue and wrecked their bike on Columbia Street.

Authorities say they observed a blue motorcycle pull out in front of them on Sixth Avenue, where it is said the driver, Dylan Reardon, disregarded a stop sign and nearly hit the police cruiser.

Officers say attempted to yell out to him but the driver did not acknowledge them. They also say the driver was traveling at an “unreasonably high rate of speed.”

It is said Reardon wrecked his motorcycle while traveling in the wrong lane near Columbia Street and Fulton Avenue.

Authorities say Reardon attempted to get back on the bike while continuing to ignore the officer’s commands until their taser was deployed which sent him off the motorcycle.

Upon arrest, officers say they could smell the odor of alcohol from Reardon’s breath and he admitted to having “4-5 drinks.”
