One arrest made after a hit-and-run in Evansville

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — One person is arrested after police say he fled from the scene of a crash in Evansville.

Officers say they were called to a crash with unknown injuries at the intersection of South Garvin Street and Bellemeade Avenue where witnesses say a driver ran a red light and collided with another vehicle.

It is said the driver, Jermontae Boyd, was scene fleeing from the scene. An officer on scene spotted Boyd and told him to stop however, Boyd kept running.

After pursuing Boyd for several city blocks, police say they did not believe he managed to leave so a drone was used to located his heat signature. It is said he was found in a shed in a backyard area.

Boyd was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Crash and Resisting Law Enforcement. He has since been released.
