EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — 77.19 acres of farmland just outside of Evansville has been purchased by Deaconess in an effort to meet the rapidly growing medical needs of the community.
Documents from the Vanderburgh County Assessor’s website show Deaconess purchased the property on 401 East Inglefield Road, just off of Highway 41.
While there are primary care clinics in the area, the closest large-scale hospital with an emergency room is Deaconess Midtown.
After reaching out to Deaconess, officials provided the following statement:
At Deaconess, we are continually looking for opportunities to grow and expand in ways that align with our mission to serve the health care needs of our communities. As the northern part of Vanderburgh County continues to experience rapid growth, we recognized the importance of being prepared to meet the evolving needs of this community.
While we have acquired this land, there are currently no specific plans for its use. This purchase reflects our forward-thinking approach, ensuring we are well-positioned to support future health care initiatives or services as the region continues to develop.
Thank you for your continued trust and support as we work to enhance access to exceptional health care close to home.
