EVANSVILLE — A federal judge has sentenced the 29th and final defendant charged in what prosecutors described as an expansive drug trafficking operation that funneled hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine and large quantities of fentanyl into the Evansville area. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Indiana announced the sentencing Tuesday morning, writing in a news release that the 29 defendants are now serving a combined 378 years in federal prison for their roles in a multi-state drug trafficking conspiracy.
