LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Recent workplace attacks on Kentucky nurses have advocates calling for changes. The Kentucky Nurses Association points to three acts of violence leaving nurses injured so far this year. One of them happened the morning of April 12 outside Jewish Hospital.
Police arrested 34-year-old Lacy Wilson and charged her with assault after she allegedly attacked a uniformed nurse leaving Jewish Hospital. According to the police report, Wilson, “pulled out a sharp object and began stabbing the nurse in the back.”
Advocates for nurse safety say the case is part of an alarming trend. In a statement, the Kentucky Nurses Association expressed outrage “that this kind of violence against healthcare workers continues to occur.”
