Man sentenced for trafficking 70,000 fentanyl pills into Evansville

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – An illegal immigrant from Mexico will spend time in federal prison after pleading guilty to distribution of over 400 grams of fentanyl.

Javier Moreno-Garibaldi, 38, was sentenced to 5 1/2 years followed by two years of supervised release as part of the guilty plea.

According to court documents, the Drug Enforcement Administration began an investigation into a drug trafficking organization in Mexicali, Mexico that was trafficking large amounts of fentanyl and meth through California.
