Evansville Police respond to calls of unattended children

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- Evansville Police respond to three separate calls of young children found unsupervised outside.

According to police reports, the first call came just after 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, when someone reported two children wandering around an apartment complex. Officers were able to make contact with the children’s parents and say they did not find any evidence of neglect or abuse.

Police also responded to a report of a toddler wandering around a neighborhood around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday. Officers say they knocked on doors in the area and eventually made contact with the child’s parents. Officers then took an incident report and offered suggestions to the parents on how they could better secure their home.

Police also responded to a 9-year-old child only wearing underwear at a local park around 7 p.m. on Thursday. Police say there were no adults with the child, and they were able to transport the child home…
