Evansville man accepts plea deal in wife’s stabbing

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – An Evansville man charged in connection to the stabbing death of his wife in 2023 has accepted a plea agreement and will not go to trial.

Authorities say Fenel Germain told police he stabbed someone who tried to stab his wife, Nerlade Germain-Charles, but later admitted to stabbing her after an argument. Germain claimed he acted in self-defense.

A new charge of voluntary manslaughter was filed on May 30. He is scheduled for sentencing on July 24…
