First Alert Weather Day for storms and heat

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – We are on alert for scattered storms and dangerously high heat and humidity on Thursday.

Temperatures topped out in the low 90s today with heat index values in the triple digits. Those temperatures will drop back through the 80s this evening, then into the 70s overnight, bottoming out in the mid 70s by early Thursday morning. A few showers and storms are possible through the middle of the night tonight, mainly to the north-northeast.

Thursday may start out with some sunshine, but that will only add heat and energy to the atmosphere. Temperatures will quickly climb through the 80s during the first half of the day, topping out in the low 90s by early Thursday afternoon. When you factor in the humidity, it may feel as hot as 104 to 107°!…
