A family is mourning and working on funeral arrangements after a tragedy Friday. It was about 9:45am when dispatch sent Sheriff’s authorities to a spot about a mile south of New Harmony on the Illinois side of the Wabash River in reference to an overturned truck in the water. Once on scene, the sheriff’s department says they called for the Shawneetown dive team and IDNR Conservation officers. The Shawneetown dive team was able to ascertain there in fact was an individual inside the vehicle. Tri-State Towing and Recovery pulled the vehicle from the river and authorities identified the man as Robert Duvall of Crossville. White County Sheriff Jordan Weiss says no foul play is expected; White County Coroner Chris Marsh has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The White County Sheriff’s Department released the information about 4:25pm Friday and the information was taken down shortly after due to not all family being notified at the time. A family member has since reached out to WROY/WRUL News to let us know all family has been notified…
