Deputies arrest Evansville man accused of fleeing after hitting patrol car

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – An Evansville man was booked on multiple charges on Sunday morning, after authorities say he sideswiped a Vanderburgh County deputy’s patrol vehicle and lead authorities on a low-speed chase.

Deputies say Edin Jimenez Hernandez, 30, was arrested after he sideswiped a patrol vehicle near East Columbia Street and North Morton Avenue just after 2 a.m. on Sunday. According to a release, Hernandez did not stop, and deputies followed him through a nearby neighborhood.

When the vehicle came to a stop on east Iowa Street, authorities say Hernandez was taken into custody without incident. Hernandez reportedly admitted to drinking prior to driving and said he has never been issued a driver’s license. The sheriff’s office said Hernandez had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.205…
