GameStop Closure in Southern Indiana Leaves Evansville Fans Looking to Other Locations

We are card-carrying members of GameStop in my family. You can find collectible toys and action figures, not just video games. But when we stopped in the West Side location, we found nothing!

GameStop Closes Location on Evansville’s West Side

Recently, the Henderson, Kentucky GameStop location closed without warning. The same thing happened to the Evansville West Side location just last week. We had no idea that it was closing. I suppose they just move stock to the remaining stores.

Remaining GameStop Stores in Evansville and Newburgh

Even with the west side closure, GameStop customers still have options nearby. Evansville continues to have two active locations, and an additional store is open in Newburgh. These stores will continue to serve the gaming community, offering video games, consoles, collectibles, and accessories.

Why GameStop Stores Continue to Close Nationwide

GameStop has been closing select stores across the United States as part of its larger business adjustments. With more gamers turning to digital downloads and online retailers, foot traffic in physical stores has changed. These factors have led the company to reevaluate its store presence in some markets, including Southern Indiana.

According to RetailTouchPoints.com, the company has plans for significant store closings through 2025. I think we need one larger store, so we can find our collectables in one spot.

Sure, I know that we can order pretty much anything online. And we do preorder certain items from GameStop. But, if I’m going to buy something that I want to keep in the package, I like to see it before I buy it…
