Expect traffic delays as Lloyd Expressway construction proceeds

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – As work proceeds on the Lloyd Expressway, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says people should expect more visible pavement markings and traffic disruptions.

Plan for traffic disruptions

Officials say Rosenberger Avenue north of the Lloyd will be closed for 15 days starting on or after September 2. This will include access to University Drive from Rosenberger.Officials say people should also note:

  • Starting September 3, no right turns allowed from eastbound Lloyd to southbound Burkhardt
  • No right turns from northbound Burkhart to eastbound Lloyd continue
  • Ongoing inside lane restrictions continue for southbound Burkhardt north of the Lloyd

Be sure to:

  • Plan ahead
  • Allow extra time
  • Stay alert in work zones

Improving the visibility of lane markingsAccording to INDOT, to improve the visibility of lane markings at the new Lloyd and Stockwell Road intersection, along with other sections of the Lloyd, INDOT crews added brighter white epoxy markings to the pavement surface. INDOT will also add temporary raised reflectors to mark lanes in an effort to address customer concerns during challenging times of the day, such as sunset.Officials say in addition to the white striping and raised pavement markers, plans are underway to add markings to the medians to improve visibility.
