HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Five people were arrested after Evansville Police say they attempted to steal approximately $30,000 worth of copper wire from CenterPoint Energy on Tuesday.
Authorities say the group was discovered near a manhole in the 400 block of North Evans Avenue around 4:30 p.m.. Evansville Police say the group cut a large section of copper wire that was hooked up in the sewer and brought it up to the street.
