Evansville city leaders talk gun safety following two gun incidents involving children

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – City leaders say they are devastated by recent incidents involving guns in Evansville, especially because accidental gun deaths can be prevented.

Whether that’s parents being more proactive, or the city doing more for the children, they say, there is a lot of work to be done.

“It’s been for a while now, that gun violence has continued to be an issue,” State Representative Alex Burton said. “Especially for our youth. Not only the interaction with guns, but the ability to get access. It is a real concern, a real problem.”…
