Gibson County teacher leaves after social media posts

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Gibson Southern High School has parted ways with a teacher.

Ian Gamroth and the South Gibson School Board signed a separation agreement that was effective September 15. School officials say Gamroth resigned. It was reviewed Tuesday night at the school board meeting.

Although officials did not list a reason for his departure, Gamroth was one of several teachers reported to Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita for allegedly making celebratory posts about the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

According to a website hosted by AG Rokita, Gamroth reposted a quote by Mark Twain that read, “I’ve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure.” Another post quoted Oscar Wilde, which read, “Some men improve the world only by leaving it.”…
