HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Authorities arrested four people following a drug trafficking investigation at multiple homes in Evansville on Wednesday. The arrests also lead to six juveniles being removed from two of the homes.
According to an affidavit, members of the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force, the DEA and the Evansville ATF began investigating a group of drug traffickers in June. On Wednesday, authorities began surveillance of a residence associated with the investigation in the 1600 block of South Fares Avenue, where they reportedly found Frank Jackson, 38, and Davina Johnson, 35.
During a search of the home, authorities say they seized approximately 139.2 grams of synthetic cannabinoid chemical, 1,279 grams of Damina leaf which tested positive for a synthetic cannabinoid, two digital scales, several pieces of glassware with chemical residue and five sheets of papers soaked in a substance that tested positive for synthetic cannabinoid. Two juveniles were reportedly living in the home, and were removed by DCS.
Johnson and Jackson were both booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail and charged with dealing in a controlled substance, conspiracy to deal a controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance and neglect of a dependent. They are being held without bond.
Authorities say they also began surveillance at a residence in the 10000 block of Marx Road, connected to another suspect, Zaine Conner, 35. Authorities conducted a traffic stop on Conner, and reportedly discovered he was in possession of two firearms and a respirator mask. Authorities say Conner admitted to manufacturing synthetic cannabinoid product for Brian McCurry.
During a search of the home on Marx Road, detectives say they discovered a large synthetic cannabinoid manufacturing lab. Authorities say they seized three bags each containing synthetic cannabinoid with a collective field weight of 4.6 pounds, a yellow colored wax like substance that tested positive for synthetic cannabinoid with a field weight of 9.2 pounds, a digital scale, drug ledger, a money counter, five rifles, four semi-automatic handguns, various ammunition and two unmarked pill bottles containing approximately 598 grams of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine…
