Semi truck driver faces multiple charges for sideswiping parked Indiana trooper’s cruiser

A semi truck driver was arrested and faces charges after striking an Indiana State Police (ISP) cruiser in Posey County over the weekend.

At approximately 8:38 a.m. on September 27, 2025, an ISP trooper was standing outside of his cruiser on westbound I-64 near mile marker 10 as he conducted a traffic stop on a semi truck.

According to Sgt. Todd Ringle with ISP’s Evansville District, “another semi traveling west failed to yield and sideswiped the patrol vehicle. The trooper was standing near the violator’s door when the crash occurred. The trooper fell to the ground during the crash and received minor injuries.”…
