Officials say initial investigation determined that at 7:33 p.m., John G. Goodall, 50, of Oakland City, was leaving his deer hunting area to pick up his spouse, who was hunting nearby, when the ORV he was operating overturned, trapping him underneath. DNR says Goodall’s spouse, who heard the accident, responded to help and called 911. Officials say despite taking life-saving measures, Goodall was pronounced dead on the scene. The DNR says the accident is still under investigation.
