Albion Fellows Bacon Center to offer pet friendly programs

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Only about 17% of domestic violence shelters in the United States allow pets to stay with their owners, the Albion Fellows Bacon Center is one of them.

According to the center, they have been pet-friendly since 2022. To help survivors whose shelters can’t take pets, the Vanderburgh Humane Society runs the safe pets program. It provides free boarding for pets of domestic violence survivors for up to 30 days.
