EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Emergency crews were at the scene of a house fire in the 1300 block of Oakley Street in Evansville on Wednesday.
Officials say the call reporting the fire came in just after 5 a.m. and it was quickly elevated to a two-alarm fire. Ten minutes after arriving, crews were told to exit the home and go into defensive mode.
The roof of the home collapsed at approximately 5:14 a.m., and crews continued to work on extinguishing the flames until 5:39 a.m.. Crews remained at the scene until approximately 10 a.m….
