EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The Southwest Indiana Recovery and Empowerment (SWIRE) Program is a non-profit organization operating inside the Vanderburgh County Jail. It provides re-entry and recovery services for inmates struggling with substance use disorders.
The SWIRE Program is a peer led organization. Its Executive Director Katherine Beyers says that means the people providing support have personal experience with recovery themselves.
