What Exactly Is Socket Shield?

Two brothers from Warrick County had a shocking experience in grade school and turned it into one of today’s baby-proofing and home improvement trends that everyone needs. Alex Oliver’s brother, Austin, had a class assignment to prevent electric shock. Years later, he never dreamed his grade school class project would turn into an invention you can find on shelves at Ace Hardware, Illuminating Expressions, 4J’s Hardware, Evansville Tile, Nichols Electric Supply, and more.

Not only does the Socket Shield prevent electric shock, it’s a nifty cover for those ugly outlets, providing a more appealing look and aesthetic for your household. Why not just use those socket filler things for baby proofing? Well, my personal experience with these never ends well. They’re nearly impossible to get out of the outlet when the time comes for me to use it. Socket Shield is essentially a sliding door for your outlet, allowing for easy access when electricity is needed, but providing safe, secure locking in an appealing fashion when not in use.
