Oscar Mayer Wienermobile rolls into Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile has rolled into Evansville.

Fans were invited to tour the iconic vehicle sit shot-bun and snag a famous wiener whistle. Today the Wienermobile was at Schnucks on the west side. It will be at the Darmstadt location from 9 a.m. until noon on Friday, then at the Lawn-Dale location from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.

“It was actually Carl Mayer, Oscar Mayer’s nephew, back in 1936 during the height of the great depression in Downtown Chicago, they had this ideas of making the very first Wienermobile for the express purpose of driving around the U.S. and making people smile,” Jack, and Cheese, Cupit said…
